A comedy about love, jealousy, intriguers and the cheated, full of unexpected surprises, by the authors Martin Glaser and Olga Šubrtová, directors of other plays that have achieved high popularity with the audiences: The Three Musketeers, Robin Hood and The Wives of Henry VIII.

The biblical story of the Saviour is connected to episodes from the life of the Schwarzenberg family – the founders of the baroque theatre in Český Krumlov and of the Bellaria summer pavilion. Thus, even you will be able to return to the baroque era and, under an authentic illumination, marvel at the performances of a cast numbering over a hundred artists, an imposing stage setting and, especially, brilliant music.

The beautiful and sensible Elinor, and even more beautiful and wild Marianne, two sisters who grew up in luxury in a castle, face a harsh fate after their father’s death. According to ancient laws, their half-brother inherits the property and they (and their mother and their underage sister) must move to a simple village house. Their future is extremely uncertain – who will want to marry the girls without a dowry? Moreover, when both stubbornly long to marry for love?

But gentlemen have already appeared on the scene – the shy and witty Edward, the brave Colonel Brandon, the charming Willoughby and the rich Lord Quido... The magical colour of Jane Austen’s novels comes to life in the castle gardens of Český Krumlov, taking us back two centuries, to the times when stories of great romantic love still existed …

Transformed into a new dance production, this beautiful fairy-tale will delight not only little spectators, but also their parents and all adherents of the classical ballet en pointe. The soloists of the South Bohemian Theatre appear in this version of The Sleeping Beauty along with the members of the Bohemia Ballet and the students of the Dance Conservatory of the Capital City of Prague. The costumes and the stage design are created by one of the leading Czech theatre designers, Josef Jelínek, and the performance is choreographed by Jaroslav Slavický, the director of the Dance Conservatory of the Capital City of Prague and the artistic director of the Bohemia Ballet.

The luminous world of Alexander Grin, a furious dreamer. The endless feud of a free spirit with the shackles of the earth, a duel of love and fantasy against gruelling reality and a hatred which wounds. A mysterious man, miraculously walking through the air, encourages us never to give up our desires and dreams, because then we would no longer be living. This symbolical story filled with images, atmosphere and theatrical miracles opens up new possibilities of how to bring to life the castle park and the stage of the open-air theatre with the revolving auditorium.

The theatrical nomads of the Forman Brothers’ Theatre have set up their camp in Český Krumlov.
