Miroslava Veselá

The soprano Miroslava Veselá graduated from the State Conservatoire in Prague with Professor Marta Boháčová, and came to the South Bohemian Theatre in 1986, where she has been engaged ever since. She made her debut here as Christel in Zeller’s operetta Der Vogelhändler. Following that, she has been given mainly lyrical and melodramatic parts (e.g. Nedda, Amelia (Simon Boccanegra and A Masked Ball), Rusalka, Margarete, Mussetta, Mařenka, Jenůfa, Vendulka, Maddalena di Coigny, Leonora di Vargas and her last part, Desdemona). She has also reaped success in a number of great operetta parts, such as Rosalinda, Sylva Varescu and Saffi.
