Mario De Rose
General Music Director / Conductor
Born in Buenos Aires (Argentina), with Italian Nationality he got his Degree in Composition from the Argentinean Catholic University’s School of Music. Mario De Rose wrote many works that were premiered by Argentina’s leading orchestras, chamber ensembles and soloists. He composed more than 60 pieces; among them: “Mutaciones”, “Verdiana”, “Ludus II” and “Microestructuras VI” for symphony orchestra; “Eventus” for piano and orchestra; the operas “El extraño jinete” and “Alicia y el ángel y los amores de Argentia”. He won critical acclaim for his works and also first prizes at the International Composition Contests of Fundación San Telmo, Goethe Institut, Buenos Aires’ Academy of Fine Arts and Montevideo’s S.O.D.R.E. (Uruguay). He guest conducted the following orchestras: Argentina’s Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional at the Belgrano Auditorium, Buenos Aires’ Philharmonic at the Teatro Colón, Orquesta de la Provincia de Tucumán, Orquesta de la Universidad de San Juan, Orquesta de la Municipalidad de Bahía Blanca, Sinfónica Municipal de Mar del Plata and Orquesta Sinfónica Municipal de Avellaneda, with a wide repertoire ranging from Bach to Strauss, including Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Chaikovsky, Dvorák, Franck and Liszt, among others.

2002-2005
Head of the music staff of La Plata's Theater, Argentina’s second opera house, in which he has conducted Verdi’s “La traviata”, Mozart’s “Don Giovanni”, Puccini’s “La Boheme”, an opera gala, Mahler’s 5th. Symphony, “Kindertotenlieder” and Debussy’s La Mer. He has conducted Carmen, in Stadium Luna Park, tenor Luis Lima being Don José. In 2004 he conducted Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana” and Leoncavallo’s “I Pagliacci” in Festival “Metapontum Lyrica” in Metaponto, Italy and Carmina Burana in Paraiba, Brazil for more than 5000 people each performance. Since November 2005 he is one of José Cura’s closest collaborators. Having conducted the Argentinean star in many concerts and opera performances.
