Jiří Brückler

Jiří Brückler studied classical singing at the Prague Conservatory under the tutelage of Prof. Jiří Kotouč, and in 2008 he continued his studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with Prof. Roman Janál. As early as a conservatory student he appeared as a guest at the Prague State Opera, in Rusalka and Turandot, and from the 2010/2011 season also in Rigoletto and Carmen. In the 2011/2012 season, he was a soloist of the Prague State Opera, and since January 2012 he has been a soloist of the opera ensemble of the National Theatre. Since 2007 he has performed in the summer season of the Mozart Opera Prague singing the role of Masetto in Don Giovanni at the Estates Theatre. In 2008 he enacted the role of Avenanto (Philip Glass - Beauty and the Beast) at the National Theatre in Brno (2008), where he has been engaged for the role of Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro and Ping in Turandot since the 2011/2012 season. In 2008 he joined the Chamber Opera Prague on its tour of Japan, enacting the role of Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro. He also appears at the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec singing the role of Silvio (Leoncavallo - Pagliacci) and Morales (Bizet - Carmen). Thanks to his rendering of the role of Silvio, he was put on the longlist for the 2009 Thalia Awards. In 2011 and 2012 he sang Silvio in Pagliacci at the Open-Air Theatre in Český Krumlov alongside José Cura as Canio.
